Hotel Kyjev is a high-rise building designed in the 1970s conveniently located in the heart of Bratislava, just five minutes walk from the historical city centre. Because of its size, it makes for an available, reasonably priced and very central option.
In the Communist era, it used to be the place for dignitaries and businessmen from friendly countries to stay and it certainly looks it on the outside, but many foreign visitors actually appreciate the spirit of the era long gone by that lingers within (that also explains the name of the hotel - Kiev referring to the Ukrainian capital).
The rooms are furnished with simple but practical furnishings, although often dating back to the hotel's "golden era". All rooms have en-suite bathroom and toilet.
Kyjev offers friendly staff, great cuisine (including breakfast consistently praised by guests) and reasonably priced accommodations in the city centre for business and leisure travelers. While offering no great luxury, due to its location, Kyjev is very good value for money.
Getting there - public transport From Main train station take tram no.1, change for tram no.6 at Postova street. Get off at Marianska stop. Cross street and walk back 20 meters. Hotel Kyjev is on your left.
